it was a scene of our piece showed in Schaubude, Berlin. PM Toh and me performed from 28th of June - 1st of July 2011 there. in this picture, we are doing PM Toh's TV Eng Ong program. he jus shoot me with his camera wich he made by him self.

Bayu and Agus

27th of June 2011. i collaborated with Agus Nur Amal or PM Toh in Märchenhütte, Berlin.

PM Toh is an Indonesian artist who used object to describe when he tell the story. he use things such as plastic bags, plate, pipes which he found in his daily live or every where.

it was interesting for me to collaborate with him and use his objects theather and my shadow puppets together in a piece.

in Märchenhütte we presented a story we created by our self about 2 friends called Bayu and Agus. Bayu invites Agus to come and o performances together in Berlin. the story is about Agus's journey from a small island in Indonesia. Agus have to go to Jakarta, cross the sea, junggle, and city to be in air port in Jakarta in the right time. and finally Agus is in Berin and meet with Bayu. the performance was took 25 minutes.

performance "Shoperman"

this video art took in some supermarkets in Surakarta, Indonesian. at that moment the local government of Surakarta invited some investors to build six supermartket in Surakarta. Surakarta is a famous town of Javanese cultural town. for me, it is so strange, because we are not ready to have six different big supermarket, or the government and the investors want to change the people to be a Shoperman, who like to do shop three times in a day, does not matter that we have money or from debt.

the six supermarket is self took some social places such as football field, traditional markets, etc. do they think that we do not need football or playing field? perhaps, because in their supermarket designed for family who wants to have games with machines, video games, etc.

do we need it? after 5 years now, i think that the people do not really need it. we can see that some supermarkets bankrupt.

my performance art "Super Nguen" talk about how some people reacts to the enviroment issues such as global warming in their live style. i just modified Superman to be Super Nguen. Nguen is a slank word in javanese means whatever. when we destroying our earth, we can feel the consequents of what we did. when i was in Indonesia, i feel that the weater is geting more hot every year(at that moment). unfortunatly, we used fan or air conditioner which used coal for energy. creating polution. consumes products which used more energy. but we never realised about it.
